Essex Laser's Mark Millar writes for the AILU's magazine

This month Mark Millar at laser cutting and metal folding specialists, Essex Laser has been asked to write an article in the AILU about the pros and cons of exhibiting at MACH.

You can read his article in the latest edition of AILU's magazine, The Laser User. AILU is run by and for the UK laser community and has an international membership spanning five continents. Members include all types of laser users in industry and the academic sector including laser cutting specialists like Essex Laser.

The exhibition is a major showcase for the UKs manufacturing industry and its aim is to promote UK industry on a world-class stage.

In his article, Mark addresses why some major industry players have not exhibited at MACH this year and might not do so in the future.

Mark was one of 21,654 people who visited the show this year and commented “We seem to be happy in Britain to let our world leading exhibitions fall by the wayside. My personal favourite, The British International Motor Show, has become extinct due to both economic factors and the combined efforts of Geneva and Frankfurt. Will EuroBLECH force MACH the same way? I hope not! British manufacturing has endured some pretty tough times but the Olympics has helped show the world that us Brits are still up there with the best on many levels, and that especially in manufacturing, we are “doing it right” every single day.
