Essex Laser's been helping students build robots for Robot Wars

Essex Laser offer a comprehensive laser cutting and waterjet cutting service for a variety of clients and were recently asked to get involved in a very interesting project for an Essex based school.
A team of students at Brentwood School have been taking part in robot building competitions as a part of their school’s STEM initiative and they did so well that in 2017 they competed on a special edition of the BBCs Robot Wars for students and then went on to take part in Robot Wars in China.
Essex laser have been helping them by waterjet cutting Stokboard, which is basically LDPE, a type of hard wearing plastic, but the students have designed and laser cut the metal parts for their robot themselves but needed our help with waterjet cutting to create the plastic armour for their robot.
We are now in the process of helping them with some other parts as they are building a new robot and hope to get to Battle Bots in the USA with their latest creation.
